Service:
I had the privilege to volunteer for a year at Shands Hospital in multiple roles. I spent time working in the central pharmacy distribution area of the hospital stocking medications and supplies as well as making deliveries to the hospital floors. After a semester I transitioned to volunteering on a neurosurgery and epilepsy monitoring ward where I assisted in maintaining the health and comfort of patients by cleaning high touch areas, aiding nurses in routine clerical work, and keeping patients company during their stays.
Teaching:
I had the opportunity to serve as an undergraduate TA for the Honors section of General Chemistry 2 the semester after I took the course myself. I held weekly office hours helping students work through homework questions and reviewed lecture material. I also worked with the other TAs to hold Exam review sessions to position students to succeed in the course. I also graded assignments and provided constructive feedback to my section of students.
